Cameroun Diaspora - Canada - Avril 2011

This year 2011 is a strong reminder of the independency period. Biya and his dictator friends who betrayed independency movements of the 50s and 60s, have prosecuted and assassinated patriots and sovereignists of the time, are again determined to prevent in Africa the revolution that is spreading across the world today. The question to us Cameroonians and Africans, young and old who love to praise our heroes and martyrs such as Oum Nyobe, Moumié, Wandji, Affana, Ntumazah, Mongo Beti, Lumumba, Cabral, Sankara, Mandela and Luther King, is whether we are ready to do the sacrifice needed today and rise to the challenge of today.

Will we allow the same traitors to also prevent therevolution? And what future for Africa, for us, our children and generations to come, if the traitors again manage to corrupt the revolution?

We African patriots in the revolutionary movement do not find any interest in whining and finding excuses and alibis, finding the fault in
others, in colonial powers, in the West and others. We take charge of our faith and bear the full responsibility for our future. We bear the
responsibility for our problems, failures, defeats, successes and honours. We stand up and defend our interests at any costs.

We are the new and free Africa that takes charge. We are strong and will prevail in this fight. We work relentlessly; Biya has the choice between leaving now in peace or be forced out like his Tunisian and Egyptian friends. In an open democratic society, respectful for human rights and dignity and fully appreciative of the freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, we are determined to work hard and build prosperous countries.

We offer our friendship to the entire world for a fair and respectful partnership. We respect our partners and honour our commitments; we
are appreciative of international institutions, international law and the international court of justice.

It is hypocritical to pretend defending sovereignty by tolerating, supporting and protecting Biya and his partners in crime put and maintained in power from abroad. African dictators hate their own continent, practically live abroad and get their medical treatments abroad because they don’t find their interest in building appropriate hospitals in their countries to serve their helpless, suffering and dying nations.

These dictators serve only their own egos and their masters in order to hang on to power; they ruin their countries, organise fake elections instead of deserving the vote of their people by delivering good governance and performance. Africa needs strong democratic institutions, no so called strong men! Paul Biya is rejected by Cameroonians and the world after his destructive, catastrophic and criminal 29 year performance.

Democracy, human rights and dignity, and the freedom of expression are universal and the entire world will carry them to victory.
We call on France, the West and the rest of the world to distance themselves from Paul Biya and his partners in crime who mishandle,
terrorise and destroy their own nations. France, the west and the rest of the world shall reconcile with Africa by taking the side of the people, the side of strong and independent democratic institutions, human rights, dignity and liberties that are the rule in their own countries.

The time has come to heal the deep wounds of colonisation and fights for independence, to enter a new chapter, a new era of equal, respectful and viable partnership. Asian countries such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore and the city of Hong Kong, most of whom were at identical development stages as Cameroon in the 60s, are now developed societies and best partners of the West.

Ghana, Benin, Mali and other emerging African democracies offer opportunities and future perspectives to themselves, Africa and the world that are unimaginable in Cameroon and other African dictatorships that constantly cause embarrassment to themselves, to the West and to the international community. Democratic, modern and strong Cameroon and Africa would be better partners for France, USA, UK and the rest of the world.

We demand the resignation of the dictator Biya; strong independent democratic institutions; free and fair two-round Presidential elections;
respect for human rights, freedom of expression and peaceful protests; a stop to the harassment, intimidation, arrest and torture of
journalists, and of Kah Walla, Jean Marie Atangana Mebara, Paul Eric Kingue, Titus Edzoa , Essomba Urbain, Louis Tobie Mbida, Abba
Aboubakar, Olinga Cyprien, Jean-Michel Nintcheu, Mboua Massock, Jean Marc Bikoko, Billy Batipe, Dibonji Bruno, Bouba Michel, Nyamsi
Patrick, Adoueme Aimé, Anicet Ekane, Abanda Kpama, Lapiro de Mbanga; a stop to any form of brutality against them and the immediate
release of all political detainees.

Join us for our demonstration; let’s be actors, not observers of the revolution that will bring the stability that we deserve. There has never
been and there will probably never be a better time for change than now.
